Terms of Service
These terms govern the use of the Varnox Ale House Journal website, an independent editorial blog about the Miller's Ale House casual-dining sports-bar experience.
Agreeing to read here
By reading or otherwise using this site, you agree to the terms below. If you do not accept them, the sensible next step is to stop using the site.
Varnox Ale House Journal is an independent editorial blog. It is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Miller's Ale House. We write about the food, the pours and the game-day atmosphere we ran into ourselves, and we publish corrections when a reader points out that something we described has changed.
The terms, section by section
Each entry below is written to be read on its own. If you already know which part applies to you, jump to it and come back to the rest later.
Use of the site
You may read, quote, and link to the content on this site for personal and informational purposes. You may not copy substantial portions of it for republication, use it to train or populate a competing commercial service, or present it as your own editorial material. Quoting a sentence or two with a link back is fine; lifting a whole review and republishing it without attribution is not.
Content and accuracy
Content reflects our own visits and observations at the time of writing. Menus, hours, and offerings at any restaurant change and vary by location. We describe what we saw, not a permanent state of affairs. If a dish has moved off the menu or a location now opens at a different time, tell us and we will correct the entry.
No professional advice
Nothing on this site is nutritional, medical, legal, or financial advice. Descriptions of food and drink are editorial. If you have dietary restrictions or a health condition, check with the restaurant and, where relevant, a qualified professional before you order.
Third-party names and marks
Names such as Miller's Ale House and Zingers® belong to their respective owners and are used here for identification and commentary. Their use does not imply any sponsorship, partnership, or approval of this site.
User submissions
If you send a message, tip, or correction, you grant us permission to use it to improve or update our content. We will not publish your name or contact details without asking first. Do not send confidential material you would not want quoted in general terms.
Acceptable conduct
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, gain unauthorized access to its systems, or use automated tools to scrape content at a volume that affects availability. We may restrict access where these terms are breached.
External links
This site may link to other websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.
Limitation of liability
The site is provided on an as-is basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on the content, from inability to access the site, or from the practices of any restaurant described here.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is the one published on this page, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. When the change is material, we note the new date at the top of the page rather than quietly rewriting the text.
Kitchen pass, closing hour
The food photographs on this journal are our own, taken during visits we paid for.
Corrections and how we handle them
A menu is a moving target. Between one visit and the next, a location can swap a sauce, retire a special, or shift its kitchen hours. We treat every reported change as a correction rather than a dispute, and we would rather have a note from you than a page that quietly goes out of date.
Send the detail, the location, and roughly when you saw it, and tell us whether you want your name attached. If the change is straightforward, we update the entry and note the revision. If we disagree, we leave our own observation in place and say plainly that the two accounts differ — that is closer to how a bar actually works than pretending one of us is wrong.
This page is the legal side of the journal. If you want the editorial side instead, the standards we hold our own writing to live on the Editorial Standards page, and the wider coverage starts from the homepage.
Questions readers ask
Short answers to the points that come up most often about using this site. If yours is not here, write to us and we will add it.
Is this the official Miller's Ale House website?
No. Varnox Ale House Journal is an independent editorial blog. We are not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Miller's Ale House, and nothing here is published on their behalf.
Can I republish an entry from the journal?
A short quote with a link back is welcome. Republishing a full entry, or feeding our text into a competing commercial service, is not covered by the permission above. Ask us first if you are unsure where the line sits for your use.
Do you take free meals or paid placements?
The descriptions on this site come from visits we arranged and paid for ourselves. Where a visit was hosted or a sample was provided, we say so in the entry rather than leaving the reader to guess.
What happens if I send a tip or a correction?
You give us permission to use it to improve or update our content. We will not publish your name or contact details without asking first, and we would rather you did not send anything confidential that you would object to seeing quoted in general terms.
What if these terms change after I have read them?
The version published on this page is the one that applies. We may update the terms from time to time, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
